With a newly aligned People, Safety & Culture (PSC) function we are gearing up to deliver on some exciting initiatives that will see our OneOpal Vision come to life. 

 

Reporting to the Regional Head of HR Business Partnering, you will provide hands-on, generalist HR support cross divisionally to all our manufacturing plants in New South Wales.    At these sites we manufacture and distribute a diverse range of cardboard packaging solutions and bulk paper product for our customers in the FMCG, Fresh Produce, Industrial and retail segments.   With over 400 team members across these sites (from factory operators through to Site Managers and Sales teams) your client group is diverse requiring you to bounce between tactical delivery of HR support as well as playing a key role in setting and executing HR strategy for the region.

 

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

 

  • Delivering Group & Divisional HR programmes related to performance & reward, capability development, employee engagement and safety.
  • Assisting in change management processes within the business and providing coaching and guidance to business leaders to improve and optimise our change capability.
  • Managing HR Systems, dashboards and reporting metrics and assisting in the development and implementation of action plans to address critical issues.
  • Participating in workforce planning activities for the business and providing coaching and guidance to site leadership teams on all recruitment and talent management activities
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Employee Relations plans in collaboration with our Workplace Relations team.

  • Previous experience in a hands-on, multi-site HR Manager/Advisor capacity with strong HR generalist skills. 
  • Previous experience working with unionised and blue collar workforces (either in manufacturing, transport/logistics or other industrial type environments)
  • Sound experience in conducting investigations
  • A genuine passion for coaching and supporting frontline leaders to help them develop their own leadership capability
  • The ability to travel to our different sites across metropolitan Sydney and also flexibility in being able to attend site meetings across different shifts when needed.
