With a newly aligned People, Safety and Culture team, we are gearing up to deliver on some exciting initiatives that will see our OneOpal Vision come to life. To support this vision, we have a 12-month HR Manager role available.

 

Reporting to the Head of HR Partnering, Australia, this key position is responsible for partnering with leaders in the development and delivery of strategic programs aligned to the People Strategy and ensuring accurate service of business plans and the broader Opal strategy. The role focuses on partnering and transformation to help propel Opal forward and is a balance of both strategic and operational responsibilities.

 

 

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

 

  • Providing strategic HR Leadership at the Regional Level - partner with decision makers and drive leadership development.
  • Implement HR solutions as part of a broader People, Safety & Culture team – deliver programs related to capability development, talent, succession, and safety.
  • Uplift capability with high quality people strategies and best practice principles.
  • Assisting in change management processes within the business and providing coaching and guidance to business leaders to improve and optimise our change capability.
  • Managing HR Systems, dashboards and reporting metrics and assisting in the development and implementation of action plans to address critical issues.
  • Participating in workforce planning activities for the business and providing coaching and guidance to site leadership teams on all recruitment and talent management activities
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Employee Relations plans in collaboration with our Workplace Relations team.

We are keen to hear from experienced HR professionals (5+ years’ experience) who can mentor, challenge and deliver the HR function for the stakeholder group to perform a critical role in overall company success. Specifically for this role, we expect you will have:

 

  • Previous experience in a hands-on, multi-site HR Business Partner capacity with strong HR generalist skills. 
  • Previous experience working with unionised and blue-collar workforces (either in manufacturing, transport/logistics or other industrial type environments.
  • Sound experience in conducting investigations
  • A genuine passion for coaching and supporting frontline leaders to help them develop their own leadership capability
