Discover the Opportunity Afternoon Shift Manager

The Shift Manager is accountable for establishing and driving the conditions for the team members to achieve all safety, quality, and production targets in accordance with manufacturing standards on a sustainable and improving basis in accordance with agreed company targets.

Based at our Revesby Fibre plant you will be responsible for overseeing the Afternoon Shift production and supporting our Shift Supervisors.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

  • Partner with the HSE Manager to monitor the implementation adherence to, all legal, statutory and WHS policies, systems, and practices.
  • Manage the production planning process to meet customer requirements and to optimize production efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximise production efficiencies in keeping with meeting customer and business requirements. These include hourly/daily management visual management and audits/checks to ensure conformance to standards and practices.
  • Develop and implement appropriate shift and manning structures to maintain efficient production throughputs/quality/safety to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Ensure all employees understand and adhere to our quality expectations through proper training, coaching and by conducting formal audits to guarantee compliance.
  • Sponsor and deliver continuous improvement through the application of the “Opal CI System” that incorporates elements such as 5S, TPM, Centre-lining, hourly management, and visual management.
  • Manage employees in accordance with the OFP National EBA including performance management

  • Advanced Cert, Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership role or similar.
  • The ability to drive change and continuous improvement within the business to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Previous experience working with LEAN manufacturing principals and best practice problem solving methodology (Kepner/5Whys/Fishbone) etc will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience within a unionised manufacturing environment essential.
