Opal Australian Paper is an industry-leading paper manufacturing business. We’re now seeking an experienced and commercially minded Site Optimisation Program Manager at the Maryvale Paper Mill to play a key role in driving meaningful, measurable change across our operations.

 

Reporting to the Site General Manager, you will take ownership of a broad program of work. Each project stream has initiatives designed to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and strengthen site performance. Your role is to provide financial governance, alignment, and visibility across all streams, ensuring that the activities deliver tangible and sustainable outcomes.

 

The focus of this role will be to:

  • Lead governance, tracking and financial performance reporting across all project streams.
  • Ensure delivery of the program’s financial outcomes, maintaining a clear focus on ROI and benefits realisation.
  • Partner with stream leads to identify risks, dependencies and interconnections, ensuring alignment across the full portfolio.
  • Challenge project owners constructively to uphold delivery standards, accountability and performance.
  • Consolidate and analyse data from across streams, providing clear, data-driven insights and reporting to senior stakeholders – including regular updates to the Site General Manager.
  • Coach, influence and engage leaders and teams to sustain improvements and embed a culture of continuous optimisation.

For this role you will have:

  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to interpret, analyse and communicate complex financial data.
  • Experience in program or project management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence and change management methodologies
  • A structured, data-driven approach to decision making and reporting.
  • Proven ability to influence, engage and challenge stakeholders constructively across all levels of the organisation.
  • A balance of governance and practical problem-solving – able to oversee the big picture while stepping into the detail when needed.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple moving parts.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills, with exposure to program management or performance tracking systems.
