We are currently seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for our Maryvale Paper Mill in Morwell, VIC.

The main purpose for this role will be to manage and lead your team to complete maintenance tasks for one of our paper machines, while supporting reliability improvement projects and managing cost reduction initiatives.

In this role you will ensure all maintenance work in your area is completed legally, safely and efficiently.

As a Maintenance Superintendent, you are accountable for the identification, planning, scheduling, execution, & closing out of work in your area (both in the field & in the CMMS).

Key Elements of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Developing a necessary maintenance program for mechanical systems especially preventative tasks
• Organising and planning urgent maintenance jobs, organising isolations and permits for urgent maintenance jobs
• Participating at all pre-shut meetings and shutdown review meetings
• Participating in weekly area meeting, toolbox meeting, shutdown progress meeting, and shutdown review meeting
• Ensuring the implementation of sufficient controls to reduce risk, so far as practicable, for areas under your responsibility

• Relevant Trade or Tertiary qualification in Engineering
• At least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance or maintenance support role in a similar heavy industry
• Minimum of 2 years frontline management experience
• Preventative and predictive maintenance knowledge
• Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analyses and logically examine complex information to make an accurate judgement and formulate clear recommendations
