An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Depot & Distribution Manager, based in Innisfail, QLD within the Opal Fibre Northern Region business.  This role is critical to the achievement of the market and sales strategy for our direct route to customers, predominantly in the Fruit, Produce and Protein sectors.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety, leadership and driving a customer-centric culture across each of our depots in this region. Driving a culture of safety and process improvement are critical aspects to the role.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

  • Developing a work culture of safety accountability
  • Maintain accurate stock records through proactive inventory management activities
  • Encourage and lead employee engagement through open two way communications and developing and fostering structured improvement activities
  • Manage local and intra-depot freight at the lowest cost meeting required DIFOT levels

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, previous experience running a depot or branch including financials is preferred 
  • Well developed and clearly demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent customer-focus and prioritisation skills
  • Prior experience in safety leadership and driving and implementing a behavioural safety change program
  • Intermediate skills, and demonstrated ability to leverage Microsoft Excel, as well as the broader Microsoft package
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system will be an advantage
