We’re excited to be able to offer a new opportunity to lead and manage our Opal Packaging Plus (OPP) branch in Newcastle as our Branch Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for leading and managing the activities of the Newcastle branch to deliver sales, profit and expense targets to ensure the OPP business unit remains a market leader in the distribution of industrial tape and packaging supplies.

You will have full business unit control of P&L, influence over accounting and commercial functions and pricing authority. The Branch Manager is also responsible for Safety and team development across the Newcastle branch and is a member of the OPP Leadership Team with input into the business strategy.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

• Ensuring a strong safety culture with zero tolerance for unsafe conditions and behaviours
• Leading the sales team in strategic sales & customer planning to drive profitable growth for the branch
• Managing all costs and cash flow in line with budget including sales forecasting, budgeting and monthly performance reporting
• Full Branch oversight including operations, inventory, warehousing and logistics
• Building strong relationships with our customers and developing a robust network within our existing and target markets

To be successful, you will need to bring;

• Previous P&L Leadership experience
• Previous experience in a distribution/traded goods/wholesale style of business
• Strong sales background in a B2B environment
• Strong commercial, financial and analytical skills
• Outstanding people leadership skills
• Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline
