Due to a recent internal promotion, we are excited to have an opportunity available for a Production Manager to join our Opal Fibre Packaging business in Spearwood. At this site we manufacture an innovative range of corrugated boxes and specialised cardboard packaging for some of the largest brands in the grocery, wine & fresh produce markets.  We have approximately 85 team members at this site working across 2 shifts.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will contribute to the success of Opal by;

• Upholding Opal’s commitment to Safety and driving a culture of personal safety leadership at all levels across the site
• Developing an ongoing culture of safety accountability by implementing systems and processes that provide the skills, capabilities, and management to bring about the required organisation change
• Leading teams across the day shift and afternoon shift to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost targets
• Implementing continuous improvement frameworks to identify and ensure that production teams are achieving their goals
• Working collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure the site achieves its KPIs and targets
• Fostering a supportive environment for your team focused on engaging team members, creating an inclusive and respectful workplace

Discover Yourself

This is a critical role within Opal’s Operational Leadership community and the successful candidate will compliment us by bringing;

• Advanced Cert, Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Engineering is preferred
• Previous manufacturing production management experience
• Experience delivering continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong project management and time management skills
• Understanding Health, Safety and Environment standards, legal requirements and responsibilities
• A proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels
• Experience coaching, leading, managing and mentoring high performing teams
