We have an exciting new opportunity for a Strategic Account Manager to join our Strategic Sales Team.
As a Strategic Account Manager, you’ll take ownership of a high value customer portfolio. The role focuses on building strong relationships with these key customer stakeholders, developing account growth strategies, coordinating cross-functional support, and delivering value-added packaging solutions aligned to customer and business objectives
The role is responsible for managing and developing strategic customer partnerships across national and multi-site accounts to support long-term sales growth, customer retention, and commercial outcomes.
This is a highly autonomous position, ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the road, building strong face-to-face connections with customers. When you’re not visiting clients, your base will be our Scoresby site, providing a supportive hub for collaboration and planning.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders
- Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with customer and business objectives
- Identify opportunities to grow sales, improve margins, and increase customer value
- Prepare and present customer proposals, business reviews, and growth initiatives
- Support contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and customer retention strategies
- Promote Opal’s products, innovation, and cross-divisional solutions while identifying continuous improvement opportunities

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
- Demonstrated account management experience where you have grown share of wallet with an existing customer portfolio
- B2B solution selling experience, ideally within the manufacturing industry
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and customer projects concurrently
- Established track record of hunting and closing new business, building relationships and business with new customers
- Resilience, plenty of energy and lots of enthusiasm
- Some travel required regionally and interstate
