We have a new opportunity available for a Senior Finance Analyst to join Opal. This role will be based at our Oakleigh site and manage the financial processes for the Opal Specialty Packaging (OSP) business in Victoria.

 

This includes the month end process, analysis of operating variances to budget and forecast, management and co-ordination of the budgeting and forecasting process for OSP VIC and the provision of key commercial and financial advice to operations, supply chain, sales, customer service and human resources personnel. The role will also participate in the development of Capital Proposals covering the OSP VIC business. 

 

This role will also manage the Estimating function in the OSP VIC business.

 

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

 

  • Providing key business advice to stakeholders involved in the OSP VIC business including accurate and timely analysis of financial results highlighting the links to physical drivers and emerging trends including options and recommendations for business improvement.
  • Managing all aspects of the financial month end process for the OSP VIC business.
  • Seeking ways to continuously improve OSP VIC Budget and Forecasting processes.
  • Managing working capital and capital management processes for the OSP VIC business, including the development of business cases and providing input into strategies to improve the OSP cash business.
  • Overseeing the key aspects of establishing unit costing, including setting and reviewing standard costs, back costing and analytics around customer and material profitability, managing the commercial analysis underpinning RFP responses.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;

 

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy or Commerce including a post Graduate Qualification of either CPA or CA (preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a finance / commercial management role within a manufacturing environment
  • Standard Costing and Financial Management exposure
  • High computer literacy skills (including SAP and strong Excel skills)
  • Self-Motivated with a ‘Yes We Can’ Approach to Work and a drive for results
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure with Tight Deadlines
  • A continuous improvement mindset including the desire to automate as many processes as we can!
