Opal is excited to be able offer a key strategic leadership role for a General Manager Group Supply Chain and Logistics to join our business in the Burnley, VIC head office.
This position is responsible for executing the Opal group supply chain & logistics strategy across ANZ. In this pivotal role encompassing transport, warehousing and sales & operations planning you will have accountability for the delivery of Opex and customer focussed improvements, enhancing Opal’s reputation in the market and ensuring the business delivers safely and effectively for our customers.
The role will take a lead in demonstrating the benefits of a “One Opal” approach, leveraging the extensive and vast resources of the group. It will be recognised as an enabler to support the strategic requirements of each business unit while ensuring the best operational and financial benefits are achieved.
Critical to success in this role will be your ability to bring people on the journey, manage through complex and challenging change processes, while using data to inform decisions and agreed KPIs to demonstrate improvement.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have -
- Extensive experience in supply chain and logistics leadership roles managing a large team across multiple sites in ANZ
- Implementation & operational expertise in S&OP
- A proven track record of strategic planning and executive level experience in customer focused, sales and manufacturing organisations with an emphasis on safety, execution and business transformation
- Experience of leading teams through complex change programs
- Demonstrated ability delivering in matrix organisations
- A proven track record delivering operational performance improvement while reducing Opex
- Deep analytical capability and ability to convert data and information to strategic priorities
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence and develop relationships at all levels
- Resilience and courage, and respectfully challenge the status quo
