Opal is excited to offer a key strategic role for a General Manager – Packaging Supply Chain & Logistics

This high-accountability role is heavily focused on the optimisation, commercial management, and physical flow of our national transport and warehousing network. Your primary mandate is to lead our domestic logistics, freight, and distribution strategy.

This is a hands-on, efficiency-focused challenge. We are looking for a transport and logistics leader who can dive into the data, identify structural opportunities, and deliver sustainable impact and improvement.

Some of the key areas of focus will be:

• Optimising our carrier network, managing multiple supplier contracts, and implementing robust accountability frameworks for both our logistics suppliers and customers
• Reviewing our extensive network of regional depots, finding ways to consolidate, collaborate, and leverage scale savings
• Partnering with key internal analytical teams to translate freight cost modelling and transport data into immediate, physical operational changes on the road

• Extensive experience leading large-scale freight, 3PL/4PL management, secondary logistics, and national warehousing networks within complex industrial, manufacturing, or heavy transport sectors
• Deep familiarity with transport cost-to-serve, freight negotiation, carrier SLA management, and contract optimisation
• A proven ability to look at freight, routing, and distribution data and translate it into clear, practical initiatives that drive cost out of the P&L
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to navigate a matrixed manufacturing environment
