Where do we start?   What a role!   The Marketing & Innovation team at Opal is a small but dynamic team that knows how to bounce.   If you are looking for a varied role where no two days are ever the same then you have landed in the right place.

 

The Content Communications Manager will primarily focus on the delivery of effective external communication content to support key marketing campaigns and strategic sales initiatives. This includes the development of case studies, videos, eDMs, social media content (LinkedIn / Instagram), white papers, presentations and website content.

 The role will include;

 

  • Create effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the key Opal business functions inc. Sales, Public Relations, HR, Operations, Sustainability, Marketing and I&D.
  • Creative effective working relationships with key external stakeholders (media agencies, customer corporate communications, Opal sponsorships, industry trade organisations, etc).
  • Create compelling and engaging communications that build on and demonstrate the Opal brand and innovation persona.
  • Distil complex or technical information into engaging communications that can be used across multiple channels.
  • Be a constant story seeker for Opal. Proactively collect stories and case studies that can be purposed across all channels.
  • Contribute to Opal’s social media strategy (LinkedIn, Instagram, other) to grow followers, reach and engagement.
  • Develop insightful white papers that add value to Opal’s target market segments and support and enhance Opal’s innovation prowess.
  • Promotion of Opal’s new product/process launches that inspire further engagement and interest.
  • Be a communication mentor to others in the Opal Marketing and Innovation team.

This really is a diverse role requiring someone who is energetic, self-driven and super keen to get involved in anything and everything!  Of course, you will also have some critical skills & experience such as;

 

  • Previous experience (around the 10 year mark) working in a similar role in either a PR/Comms Agency or in-house with a large, complex organisation.
  • Excellent copy writing skills.
  • Previous experience with all the bells and whistles (SharePoint, Yammer, WordPress, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Experience in developing clear, concise and relevant messaging, with consistency in tone, plus a keen eye for grammar and great attention to detail.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, particularly at the senior level; a real flair for understanding what’s needed and the confidence in getting on with it.
  • An inquisitive mind to identify communication opportunities and the experience to position them in an innovative format.
  • A real team player that thrives on the excitement of working and contributing to a dynamic team.
