Opal ANZ is an industry-leading paper and packaging business. We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest packaging companies in Australia as our Thomastown site is looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to come onboard! This unique role does not have any direct reports, however it does play a significant role in the optimization of the warehouse’s operations.

The key focus of this role will be to:

• Be responsible for the inbound warehousing function.
• Develop and implement inventory control systems and practices.
• Support the warehouse team with daily activities where required to maintain a safe an efficient environment.
• Monitor the utilization of warehouse assets to ensure optimal utilization and cost are controlled.
• Managing changes/ variables to production
• Ensuring systems and stakeholders are up-to-date
• Support regular logistics providers/ 3PLs performance reviews through specific KPIs.

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

• Experience in utilizing SAP systems (is required)
• A current LF Forklift licence (is required)
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment will be highly regarded
• Strong communication skills and ability influence others
• Problem solving skills and the ability to work in an agile environment
• Prioritization and project management skills
• A continuous improvement and process-driven mind-set
