Discover the Opportunity – Logistics Manager

Opal Kiwi Packaging currently has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our business supporting our 3 manufacturing facilities.

You will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the logistics functions including despatch, warehousing, and freight. Ensure effective utilisation of resources across the Auckland’s logistics functions. P&L accountability across logistics, 3PL management of local, linehaul and warehousing.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

  • Promote and maintain safe working practices that contribute to an accident and injury free working environment
  • Prepare and implement plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements
  • Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels
  • Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions
  • Continually review supply chain processes to improve efficiency and customer responsiveness and delivery performance
  • Lead the Production Line and Distribution Managers in the supply chain process
  • Manage dispatches and receipts to achieve delivery and responsiveness targets cost effectively
  • Assist in and implement logistics guidelines
  • Assist and support the Operations Manager to implement a materials capacity management plan
  • Direct staff activities and monitor their performance

  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships with internal and external parties and able to relate to individuals at all levels within the organisation
