Manufacturing Manager

Join the leading team at Opal Packaging - Cartons Division Christchurch as our new Manufacturing Manager, where your expertise will foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

This role is pivotal for ensuring the Christchurch site operates safely, efficiently, and effectively, while also providing invaluable support to the Operations Manager at our Auckland site.

As the Manufacturing Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving production efficiencies through active people engagement and the implementation of best practice manufacturing processes.

Your daily responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless coverage for any leave or sickness absences, monitoring and enhancing quality, keeping the machines running smoothly, meeting key KPIs, and adhering to the preventative maintenance plan.

A significant part of your role will be to guarantee that all site activities are conducted safely and that both new and existing staff receive effective training.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensuring the safety, well-being of all employees, and the environmental standards of the Christchurch site.

• Guaranteeing customer satisfaction by delivering all products on time and to the specified quality.

• Meeting productivity targets and continuously challenging established KPIs to enhance performance.

• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement aimed at achieving world-class safety performance, leading market quality, and cost competitiveness.

• Promoting a collaborative working environment characterized by open and direct communication.

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards including FSSC, HACCP, and HSE.

• Coaching, mentoring, and developing the operations team to support the Manufacturing Excellence program and improve safety outcomes.
