Opal Fibre Packaging provides a full service offering in corrugated cardboard box packaging from design and product testing through to supply chain integration. We have an exciting opportunity to join the team, providing leadership and performing maintenance duties at Opal and customer sites across NZ.

The key focus of this role will be to:

• Lead, coordinate, and participate in all maintenance activities, including planned, reactive, and improvement work
• Supervise and support maintenance technicians, and ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Perform advanced fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance to ensure availability of labour, parts, and equipment for scheduled work

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

• Strong trade qualified skills with knowledge in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and process control machinery
• Must be willing and able to travel to different sites across NZ
• Experience in leading teams in a positive manner
• An uncompromising attitude towards Health & Safety
• Experience performing maintenance on packaging machinery would be highly regarded (but is not a requirement)
• The ability to work unsupervised and motivated to complete tasks when working remotely
• Attention to detail and a quality outcome focus
• Strong relationship management and a customer-centric mindset are a must-have
• Good communication skill set - written and oral
• Production engineering knowledge (would be viewed favourably)
