We have an exciting newly created role to join our Opal Packaging Plus business in Rocklea, QLD. As the Procurement Officer you will be responsible for tactical sourcing and inventory management of the Queensland branch. The key aspects of this role are purchasing and inventory optimisation, strategic sourcing, vendor management and order administration.

Opal Packaging Plus is an industry-leading packaging and consumables business that has been delivering packaging solutions to Australian businesses for more than 40 years.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

• Ensuring inventory levels are within budget and matched to forward demand
• Coordinating demand forecasting process to optimise purchasing
• Working closely with Operations to ensure stock deliveries are well-timed to ensure smooth operation of logistics and dispatch operations
• Ensuring that inventory levels are maintained with regards to customer requirements and warehouse capacity
• Leveraging existing supplier relationships to source and price products as required

Specifically, for this role, we expect you will have;

• Ideally a bachelor’s degree in supply chain or logistics
• Previous experience in a procurement or global supply chain role
• Strategic thinking, be results driven, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Well-developed commercial acumen and continuous business improvement focus
• Sound communication skills with ability to collaborate successfully cross functionally
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Proficiency in any ERP system
