Our Opal Fibre Packaging business is currently seeking a proactive finished goods inventory and production planning professional for a Supply Planning and Finished Goods Inventory Control Lead based at the Rocklea, QLD site. We are looking for someone who leads through action, contributing at both the strategic and operational level, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role is pivotal to our supply operations, responsible for finished goods warehouse and depot inventory stock level management, season management and production scheduling. You will help shape planning strategy, while remaining actively involved in execution, working alongside a small capable team to deliver results.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by;
- Identifying and implementing best practice finished goods stock management models across a variety of different market segments with varying characteristics and service requirements.
- Managing warehouse stock replenishment planning processes to ensure timely and efficient material availability
- Developing accurate, responsive demand forecasts for finished goods in close coordination with sales and operations and using these to enact effective season management plans in the fresh and agriculture sector
- Building and maintaining a reliable Master Production Schedule to support DIFOT targets
- Driving schedule stability and reducing reactive planning
- Monitoring and managing inventory health, including stock turns, aged inventory, and working capital performance
- Working cross-functionally with sales, operations, depot and logistics teams to align supply plans and mitigate risks

This is a critical new role for our Rocklea site and the successful candidate will compliment us by bringing;
- A degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or similar credentials
- Solid experience warehouse & finished goods inventory control and production scheduling, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics
- Advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, lookups, data modelling, and automation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets
- A detail-driven mindset combined with a bias for action and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team to achieve operational outcomes.
- Confident communication skills capable of influencing across functions and levels
- Experience in high-volume, short lead time-sensitive environments is highly regarded
