The Distribution & Stock Integrity Manager is responsible for leading, planning and coordinating the dispatch activities across the three shifts (Day, Afternoon, and Night) to delivering the business objectives.

Leading a local team of 26, this role oversees the inbound and outbound movements of the warehouse consisting of approximately 1600 - 2000 pallets of finished product every 24 hours.

 

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

  • Focus on freight costs (including use of ad-hoc freight), DIFOT, inventory levels including aged profile, direct labour costs, pallet, and stock-take accuracy
  • The ability to negotiate with freight providers and ensure our needs are met, cost are appropriately managed and service expectations are delivered upon
  • Strong COR / Traffic Management and Safety practices across the distribution network
  • Providing an efficient delivery service that can support high seasonal demand of the Fresh market and react to the needs of their business customer network in a timely manner
  • Engaging and coaching team members to deliver ongoing improvements
  • Management of and delivery of service for a secondary warehouse facility off site
  • Providing strong P&L governance across the distribution network

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, previous experience running a sizable distribution network including financials is preferred 
  • Well developed and clearly demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent customer-focus and prioritisation skills
  • Prior experience in safety leadership and driving and implementing a behavioural safety change program
  • Intermediate skills, and demonstrated ability to leverage Microsoft Excel, as well as the broader Microsoft package
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system highly advantageous
