Due to an internal move, we are excited to offer a new opportunity to join our Opal Fibre Packaging finance team at Athol Park, SA.


This role will be responsible for delivering high quality financial services to all operational areas of the South Australian and Western Australian fibre businesses. Specifically, accurate and timely analysis of financial results highlighting the links to physical drivers and emerging trends including options and recommendations for business improvement and outperformance.


You will contribute to the success of Opal by:


  • Participating in the timely completion and management of month end reporting and the forecasting and budgeting process for the region
  • Providing key business advice to Manufacturing, Sales and Supply Chain stakeholders from your analysis of financial and manufacturing results, highlighting the links to physical drivers and emerging trends including options and recommendations for business improvements
  • Ensuring our costing system is reflective of actual costs, including bill of materials, waste, machine performance and work centre routings
  • Identifying and recommending opportunities for business improvement, development and growth and participate in the development and communication of the full business proposal
  • Working with the finance manager WASA (and the broader commercial team) around potential CAPEX opportunities
  • Overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting including variances and commentary on business results

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;


  • A degree in finance, accountancy or commerce and either CPA or CA qualified
  • Significant experience working in a large-scale multi-site organisation, ideally in manufacturing
  • Solid working knowledge around bill of materials and manufacturing standard costing
  • Experience in development of business cases for CAPEX
  • Exposure to ERP systems and costing systems (SAP preferred)
  • Ideally some experience working with TM1
  • Ability to build relationships across varied disciplines (sales, manufacturing, supply chain etc.).
